TOP QUESTIONS
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED, HOW FREQUENT?
The number of treatments varies from person to person. Some people experience an immediate relief; other may take months to achieve the same result. In general, chronic conditions take longer to resolve than acute ones.
Treatment frequency depends upon the severity of the problem as well as the patient’s constitution. Generally the treatments are done once a week initially, with the improvement of your condition the frequency decreases
HOW CAN I PREPARE MYSELF TO THE TREATMENT?
It is best to have a light meal or a snack prior to the treatment. It is preferable not to schedule anything right after your Acupuncture session, to allow yourself time to relax and receive the full effect of the treatment. Wear loose cloths if possible.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER THE TREATMENT?
it depends on your constitution and the type of treatment you have received. You may feel energized or have a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. Sometimes patients feel tired after an Acupuncture or NAET session and then if their schedules allow it, fall into a very deep sleep.
IS ACUPUNCTURE FOR KIDS?
Yes! Kids usually respond faster than adults and can benefit tremendously from Acupuncture. If you child has an aversion to needles, I may use acupressure and a technique called Shoni Shin that is specific for children and does not involve a penetration of the skin.
DOES ACUPUNCTURE HURT?
In general this should not be a painful experience. You may however feel a dull ache, vague numbness, heaviness, warmth or a tingling sensation in the area of insertion. Some people experience a sensation of energy spreading and moving around the needle. This is called the “Qi” sensation.
